FORBIDDEN GARDENS
Is proud to present our
Our summer program invites children ages 5 thru 13 to experience a unique opportunity to explore the marvel of ancient and Imperial China in a single-day session. During this session, your children will experience a tour of our museum, as well as fun hands-on activities designed to supplement and enhance their learning experience. These single day sessions will be held on Tuesdays and Wednesdays in June, July and August from 9:30 am to 2:00 pm. There will be different daily activities with the two different sessions, giving your children additional opportunities to extend their knowledge of Chinese culture. So, feel free to sign up for both sessions. Below is specific information concerning the two sessions we will have this summer. Activities: Asian Adventure Day includes a tour of our facility (weather permitting*) tailored to the age level of the students, an educational film, and hands on activities designed to supplement and enhance this learning process. Session I and II will offer the children a chance to make a Chinese lantern as well as Chinese Bean Bag toss's (ages 5 to 7) and Chopstick races (ages 8 to 13). 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners will be awarded with their own Chinese coin medals!
For lunch time, children should bring a sack lunch with them. Forbidden Gardens does not have an on-site restaurant, but does offer a small Snack Shop where items such as drinks and snacks, candy, chips, soda, and water can be purchased. Chaperones are required to monitor their children during lunch time. Pricing Information: The cost for Asian Adventure Day is $10.00 per child. This price includes a tour, video in our Theatre Room, and an educational hands-on activity designed for their age group for them to take home. (Chaperones will be admitted free of charge on the understanding that they will remain with their group, aiding the tour guide/activity coordinator as needed. For the children's safety all children must be escorted by their chaperone at all times, both to and from their rooms and while on tour. We request a minimum of 1 chaperone for every 15 children.) Payment Information: Payment in full must be received by Forbidden Gardens at the time of placing your reservation to receive confirmation. All reservations must be received no later than three weeks prior to the first day of the Session chosen. The Museum will try to accommodate your school in any way possible, however if all dates of the session requested are full, no refund will be given.
