Forbidden Gardens will be closed for Memorial Day, and will be open for Mother's Day and Father's Day. For Independence Day the facility will be closing early.

Memorial Day: Monday, May 26, 2008

Father's Day: Sunday, June 15, 2008

Independence Day: Friday, July 4, 2008
*On July 4th, the last tour for the day will go out at 1pm, and the facility will be closing at 3pm.

General Information

Guided tours last approximately an hour depending on the size of the group. Forbidden Gardens will close in the event of inclement weather. Please call ahead to (281) 347-8000 if in doubt.

Since Forbidden Gardens is mostly outdoors, it is recommended you dress comfortably and wear shoes you can walk around in. An umbrella, hat, and/or sunscreen is also recomended on sunny days. There are benches located throughout the park for your comfort during your tour.

The park is wheelchair accessible and Forbidden Gardens has wheelchairs available in a first come first serve basis. Cameras are welcomed. No pets are allowed in the park with the exception of assistance animals.

Hours of Operation

*Please note that the times listed below are our normal hours of operation. There may be early closings at anytime. We are closed for all major holidays and may close due to special events. Forbidden Gardens will close due to inclement weather. Please call 281-347-8000 to get information on any changes to our normal hours of operation that may be in effect that day.

Forbidden Gardens is open to the general public year round Friday, Saturday and Sunday ONLY.

We suggest arriving at least 30 minutes prior to your selected tour time to view the informational video in our theater room. The video runs for 22 minutes continuously throughtout the day.

Museum hours are 10:00am -5:00pm. Admission gates will close at 3:30pm & no one will be admitted afterwards.

Guided Tours are mandatory and are at 11:00 am, 12:00pm, 1:00pm, 2:00pm & 3:00pm. *Please note that 3pm is our last tour of the day. Forbidden Gardens is not responsible for any exhibits or information missed.

Private Tours

Tours must be booked in advance. Pre-arranged group tours of 20 or more people are allowed on Monday - Thursday. Tours may be booked from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. Please contact Jennifer Neeley or Alicia Mendez for tour booking.

Directions

From Houston, take I-10 west. Take the Grand Parkway/Highway 99 exit. Turn right (north) onto Grand Parkway until it dead ends. Turn left onto Franz road and immediately turn right into the Forbidden Gardens parking lot. Please call for directions.
